Exciting New Notion Updates You Need to Know (May 2024)
Notion recently launched new exciting updates, which make the platform more user-friendly and streamlined. In this article, we will cover these useful updates, which you might not know yet.
Add a New Page Button
The first simple yet very useful feature is a button to add a new page!
The new page button lets users create new pages in their workspace swiftly and effortlessly. This feature will help you reduce the time and effort required to navigate the platform.

Enhanced Page Experience
Notion has also rolled out a new page experience. This new page experience helps eliminate the 'empty page' problem that some users found overwhelming. Instead of just an empty page, Notion now allows you to select from several options with built-in templates, such as a to-do list, weekly plan, or journal page.
For users with Notion AI paid plan, You can also ask AI to help you configure the page you would like to have. And for users who would like to start a page as a database, hover to the 3 dots on the right and select the right database views you would like to have:
- Table-view database
- Board-view database
- List-view database
- Timeline-view database
- Calendar-view database
- Gallery-view database

Custom Sidebar Options
Before this update, you couldn't move your sidebar. Now, you can customize it according to your preference. For instance, if you prefer having your private workspace on top, you can easily move it above the shared workspace and team space!

Another exciting update is the ability to import information from a PDF & Google Doc into a Notion page. Now, there is no need to juggle between multiple platforms as you can read these formats right in your Notion workspace.

Automation with Notion Plus
This update is handy if you work as a team and are a Notion Plus subscriber. If you would like to send a notification whenever a certain criterion is met, you can add a trigger, and the action could be a notification to a specific person in your workspace.

Image Cropping
You can now crop images in a basic way inside of Notion. This new feature allows you to adjust your images' appearance within your Notion workspace.

New Notion Formulas
Another significant update we want to highlight are new Notion formulas. You can now calculate the mean or median of numbers. Moreover, a date formula called 'today' has been introduced, allowing you to calculate the time between the due date and 'today' without specifying the time.
