Update 2: Suggested Edits
The next update we want to discuss is Suggested Edits, one of the most useful updates for document collaboration among team members. Simply go to the top right corner, click on the three dots, and toggle on “Suggested Edits”. In this mode, you can write and suggest edits that others can accept, reject, or discuss further.
Update 3: Notion AI
Notion AI has received some significant updates!
Notion AI can answer any question using information from Notion, Slack, and soon Google Drive and GitHub, with models like GPT-4. There is no need to search through multiple tools as you can now interact with Notion in a full-page window.
To access Notion AI anywhere within the app, there are three main options:
1. click on suggested prompts at the right of the screen
2. Use the shortcut shift + command + J
3. Go to the left sidebar section where you can find Notion AI on a dedicated page
Update 4: Improved Inbox
The improved inbox is a major update that enhances how you manage messages and notifications. You can now lock the inbox pane while addressing your pending notifications. This prevents interruptions from new messages while you handle existing ones.
Update 5: Integrations with Asana and Jira
The new update allows you to import projects from Asana and convert them into Notion databases. The Jira Sync integration has also been improved, which offers faster syncs and upgraded database functionality.
Update 6: Database Automation
There are now significant improvements in both databases and automation, changing how we manage databases and interact with data. You can choose to explore and use advanced features such as sub-items, dependencies, tasks, and AI summary properties.
Additionally, the ability to add multiple triggers for automation has been improved, allowing for more complex workflows and automation setup.
Update 7: Charts
Finally, the most awaited update is the introduction of Notion Charts. You no longer have to use third-party tools to display your data visually in Notion. You can now create various types of charts, such as vertical bars, horizontal bars, lines, and donuts. This is a fantastic feature for those who want to visualize data directly within Notion.
You can also customize charts extensively, including sorting, omitting zero values, changing y-axes, and selecting color styles. One thing to note is that if you’re on the free plan, you can only create one chart per workspace. For unlimited charts, you’ll need to upgrade to the Plus plan.
Coming up next: Notion Forms!
One of the most exciting upcoming features is Notion Forms. With this update, you'll be able to create and manage forms directly within Notion. This will allow you to gather feedback, conduct surveys, and collect data seamlessly.
